Naim Audio CD 3.5 with Flatcap Power Supply For Sale

Up for sale is my Naim Audio CD 3.5 CD player and Flatcap power supply. CD 3.5 production ran from 1997 to 2002 and these units were built in 1998 (the Naim website here identifies the build year by the serial number - these being 150200 and 148540). The CD player can be used without the power supply but sound quality is greatly improved when connected. They are designed to be used together, the flatcap being an upgrade to the standard unit. These are part of the classic, iconic 'olive' slimline series from Naim.

All accessories are included (remote control, grey SNAIC signal cable, black SNAIC power cable, puck, link plug and transit screw). If you use these with a non-Naim amp, then you will most likely need a DIN > Phono cable instead of the grey SNAIC.

Both units are in excellent condition, I can't see any scratches on the cases and the illuminated logos are bright. The CD player has a built-in laser checker. Powering up the unit with the play button pressed initiates this. It will continuously play a CD and register any read errors by the laser. I recently ran a check for 12 hours and the results were 0.

The only reason I'm selling is because I've recently upgraded to the Naim CDX player.

I don't have the original boxes but they will be very well packed if shipping is required.

If you check HiFi Shark (a second-hand hifi search engine) you will see the current prices for these units on the second hand market. I'm asking for
€490 for both units (plus postage), which is fair considering their good condition.

Without the Flatcap connected, the link plug must be used, to activate the player's own power supply (though it doesn't make sense to do this if you have a Flatcap!)

Beauty is not only skin-deep.
CDs sound stunningly good!
If you are interested in listening to the player, through a Naim NAC 102, NAP 180 and HiCap amplifier combination into Naim Allae speakers, please get in touch using the contact form below and I will happily demonstrate it. Bring music that you are familiar with and hear parts you never knew existed! I'm based in Charlottenburg, Berlin. Pick up is preferred but postage is also an option.
Thanks,
Sean
